What I do
Since my first computer class in High School I have had a passion for working with technology. I love the challenges and finding new ways to make technology both easier to use, and easier to understand. I am very experienced with Web Design ( my first passion), but in my profession life I spend most of my time working as a SysAdmin. My Daily tasks are very broad. Writing PowerShell scripts to automate tasks and integrate with outside agencies. Managing backups for the Data Centers, and keeping the equipment running. Recently, most of my time has been working within the big world of Azure. Doing things like create PIM enabled groups for role based access. Managing cloud services, Intune management, EntraID account management. I just completed a project to move all our ADFS integrated applications to EntraID, which was a little under 60 applications. I love helping our Apps team with certificate management with our on prem PKI infrastructure that I setup, as well as our public facing certificates.
How I do it
I’m a huge believer in do it once, do it right. I really enjoy the challenge of learning something and mastering it before putting it into practice. And once I’ve mastered it, I love teaching and showing others what I’ve learned and how to effectively and properly implement the solution. The most current challenge that effected the entire organization was implementing VMware NSX-T in our production datacenter. I loved learning all of the aspects of micro segmentation; what it does, how it works, and how it will fit best in our organization. Once I had a good understanding of those objectives, I was able to design, configure, and implement NSX-T in our environment and then teach the rest of the team how it works, why it works, and how to manage it best.
Where I live
I am a Colorado Native, I currently live in the wonderful city of Thornton. I grew up in Northglenn and went to college in Denver. My wife and I moved to Brighton for a few years before settling in Thornton. We fell in love with our neighborhood and our neighbors. We are blessed to call this our home, and look forwarding to spending a long time here. We love that Thornton is central to so many great places, so finding new adventures is easy.
